Artistic revolutions, first drafts of history, and waiting for ideas to bloom; sedimentary records, object-based problem-solving, and cruel choices; Agrippina, Aleister Crowley, and birds of paradise.
The story of the collected carbon copies reminded me of the discovery of Clara Barton's correspondence and other records from above the ceiling of the space in a Washington DC building where she had lived during a part of the Civil War - the building was then a rooming house. She used her rooms as her office and work space during and for a while after the war.
This is a wonderful collection! It's nice to be reminded that there continues to be great prose. Thank you for this service.
Thank you, Danielle, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Happy festive season!

Thank you for sharing. I’ve just gone and read a little bit about the Barton discovery - how fascinating, and lucky!
